Amid the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Governor Murphy signed Executive Order No. 177 on August 14, 2020 to create a modified vote-by-mail (VBM) election for the November 3rd General Election. The County Clerk will send VBM ballots with pre-paid postage to all active registered voters.

Ballots can be returned to via a secure drop box, the United States Postal Service (USPS), to the County Board of Elections or an Orange polling location on Election Day with valid identification.

Deadlines
- Tuesday, October 13th – to register to vote or change your address. Orange City Hall will be open until 8:00 PM
- Monday, November 2nd by 3:00 p.m.- to request an absent ballot
- Tuesday, November 3rd by 8:00 p.m. – to deliver an in-person absentee ballot
Ballots returned through USPS with a postmark on or before November 3rd will be counted as
a valid ballot by the County Clerk, if received by 8:00 p.m. on November 10th.
Ballots without a postmark that are received by the County Boards of Elections on or before November 5th by 8:00 p.m. shall be considered valid.
Every registered voter will have the option to complete a provisional ballot on Election Day at a designated polling site.
